Pro Bono & Legal Justice

Our legal system works best when everyone has access to it; however, we know that is not always the case. At Taylor English, our attorneys support pro bono and legal justice organizations that focus on marginalized communities. We advocate for the rights of unaccompanied migrant and refugee children in the U.S.; assist victims of domestic violence with obtaining temporary restraining orders against their abusers; and provide a home within our office space for Georgia Appleseed Center of Law and Justice, just to highlight a few.

Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation (AVLF) and its Standing With Our Neighbors (SWON) Initiative

The SWON program typically represents working poor families fighting against slumlords who, more often than not, seek to evict those who have the courage to complain about their living conditions. AVLF studies establish a direct correlation between evictions, crime, and student drop-out rates. Students who attend two or more different schools a year due to evictions and change of address, are 10 times more likely to fail in school and never receive a diploma. We represent the tenants in their fight to have sanitary living conditions for their families and be able to maintain a home address that allows their children to attend the same school throughout the school year.
