Amanda Wilson Speier is a partner in Taylor English’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department who focuses her practice on the healthcare industry, particularly medical malpractice defense. With over 13 years of experience representing large Georgia health systems, Amanda has gained an intricate knowledge of hospital processes and hospital medicine. Her specialty is complex cases involving hospitals and multiple healthcare providers.

She represents all types of healthcare providers, including hospitals, nurses, physicians, physical therapists, mid-level providers, radiology technicians, and pharmacists.  Her representation of these clients also includes general liability, contract and billing disputes, and premises liability defense. Ms. Speier also advises medical providers in responding to complaints and investigations by the state licensing boards.

Ms. Speier also assists healthcare clients with risk management needs and day-to-day patient care questions. Prior to re-joining Taylor English in 2024, Ms. Speier served as Director of Risk Management for a large metro-Atlanta health system. Now, as outside counsel, Ms. Speier performs similar functions for healthcare provider clients, providing real-time advice on issues such as patient consent, documentation, and compliance with HIPAA and EMTALA. Ms. Speier also drafts hospital policies and files guardianship proceedings.

Finally, Ms. Speier leverages her understanding of medical records and medical causation in her defense of all types of businesses in premises liability suits, particularly those involving catastrophic injuries or death.
