As a service provider, I provide practical, goal-driven legal services to help my clients meet their business objectives – timely and efficiently. I have been inside counsel, and outside counsel, and I have owned and operated my own business, which gives me a well-rounded perspective to give advice. I strive to educate my clients on their options and possible consequences and to deliver creative solutions to help steer their businesses in the desired course. With being a part of the Taylor English team, I have the resources, support and the combined expertise of my colleagues available to ensure that my clients receive excellent, comprehensive and cohesive advice, regardless of the issue.
Lauren Marlow is a member of Taylor English’s Corporate Department. Her unique approach to practicing law allows her to build trust and confidence within her clients as she spends the time understanding their businesses, circumstances and goals. As a former General Counsel at a Colorado-based corporation, Ms. Marlow has a firm understanding of the needs of business owners and the valuable role counsel plays in providing practical, solution-oriented services.
Clients turn to Ms. Marlow for business-related legal support, including assistance with partnerships and operating agreements, partnership and corporate tax issues, commercial contracts, mergers and acquisitions, entity formation non-qualified incentive plans and general business advice. Ms. Marlow also offers estate planning services for business owners designed to facilitate and leverage continuity in personal and business goals.
Ms. Marlow’s Master of Laws in Taxation gives depth to her understanding of the issues that arise for her clients and bolsters her creativity in problem solving. “There are tax implications in every deal, every structure, every transaction-- whether those are material or not depend on the circumstances, but they’re there nonetheless. Having an understanding of the “whole picture” is critical when creating structures – in business or in personal planning – to ensure the client’s goals are not only captured on paper, but also realized once actually in place.”
Ms. Marlow began her legal career in Denver, Colorado in the corporate and securities practice group of a large, international Minneapolis based-firm and subsequently obtained her LL.M. in Taxation at the University of Denver, Sturm College of Law. In 2011, she left her corporate counsel position to return home to Georgia and to start her own private practice. Prior to joining Taylor English, Ms. Marlow was a member of a local, Atlanta boutique business law firm where she led the corporate group.
When she’s not practicing law, Ms. Marlow is with her family, exploring local museums, festivals and events or relaxing in the North Georgia Mountains. She also loves to ski, thanks to her time spent in Denver, and as a founding member of the Atlanta United soccer team, Ms. Marlow goes to almost every home game. “I love the sport, the fans, the rapidly growing and infectious team-spirit, the noise – everything about it.”
