As a patent agent in Taylor English’s Intellectual Property Department, Katherine Buchanan provides her clients with solid strategies to enforce their patent rights and effective strategic counsel for her clients regarding patent infringement, patent litigation and patent prosecution. She utilizes her more than seven years as a patent agent to advise clients on internal business lines on strategic patent-related alliances and evaluate for infringement of a company’s patents in order to enforce patent rights.

During her tenure with Kids II, Inc., Ms. Buchanan was Patent Manager & Registered Patent Agent. There, she analyzed patent acquisition opportunities and supported third-party patent-related alliances and formulated strategic responses to Office Actions issued by the USPTO and foreign patent offices. She also evaluated competitor products for infringement of the company’s patents and advised internal lines of business on effective ways to enforce patent rights.

Ms. Buchanan acquired her Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in biomechanics from the University of Florida. She was a member of the Honors Study Abroad program, and the Society of Women Engineers.
