Taylor English is structured to represent each client comprehensively and nimbly for a sensible fee. None of the prior firms with which I have been affiliated (ranging in size from 1,000+ to 1) offered the same balance. This firm is unique.
John Taylor is a commercial real estate attorney whose 30 years of practice are strategically developed to cover the breadth of commercial real estate issues. These areas are: transaction, litigation, and mediation. Mr. Taylor’s transactional work focuses on all aspects of commercial real estate acquisition, financing, development, leasing, management and disposition. Litigation representation includes landlords, tenants, and developers in connection with commercial real estate disputes. Mr. Taylor’s mediation training provides additional skill and insight to help clients achieve resolution of disputes thoroughly and successfully.
After clerking for The Honorable Lewis R. Morgan of the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals for a year after law school, Mr. Taylor spent 23 years representing institutional owners, lenders, and users in commercial real estate transactions throughout the country. Clients included regional banks (which he also represented on asset-based and corporate loans), regional and national life insurance companies, timberland investment management organizations, developers, and high-wealth individuals. Property types included retail, multifamily (including low-income), office, industrial, hospitality, silvicultural and recreational.
His transactional skill set provides a practical basis for his dispute resolution work.
Mr. Taylor had his own solo practice for nine years during which he continued his commercial real estate practice and expanded into real property litigation. His litigation practice now includes serving as special master in disputes concerning discovery generally and electronically-stored information specifically.
Mr. Taylor serves as a third-party neutral to assist disputants and their attorneys to reach mutually-beneficial agreements that may not be achievable in litigation. He is a mediator licensed and registered by the Administrative Office of the Courts of Georgia and the Georgia Commission on Dispute Resolution. His peer review rating on Martindale is "AV® Preeminent™."
Outside of his practice, Mr. Taylor is on the board of directors of Tapestry Development Group, a nonprofit low-income housing developer.
