Jim Standard has been serving as a trusted advisor to his clients for almost 25 years. Mr. Standard applies his diverse background in law, business, finance and tax to provide a unique and perceptive approach to representing his clients. He works with clients on the acquisition and divestiture of businesses, including stock purchases, asset purchases, and mergers, and provides tax-efficient strategies for structuring these transactions. Mr. Standard assists clients with internal governance matters, including the preparation of operating agreements, employment agreements, and equity incentive plans. He works with non-profits on compliance matters and international clients on cross-border transactions. Mr. Standard also represents both businesses and individuals in a variety of commercial transactions, including lending agreements, lease agreements, and licensing agreements.

In addition to his role as a business advisor, Mr. Standard represents both companies and individuals in tax controversies and business and commercial disputes. He has extensive experience in representing both majority and minority shareholders in shareholder disputes, officers and directors in claims brought by shareholders and creditors, and companies and employees in litigation involving non-compete agreements and misappropriation of trade secrets, confidential information, and other intellectual property.
