With more than 35 years of practice experience, 30 of those as an in-house practitioner, Gray McCalley brings business relevant solutions to his clients’ domestic and foreign legal affairs. He co-leads t|e General Counsel, the firm's fractional general counsel practice.

After private practice, he worked in the domestic and international operations of the Coca-Cola System, as well as with Printpack, Inc., a billion dollar packaging company with a Fortune 100 customer base. During his career, Mr. McCalley developed multidisciplinary skills in guiding mergers and acquisitions, complicated commercial transactions, labor and employment, compliance, and dispute resolution. He spent the last 20 years of his practice in manufacturing.

As Senior Vice President and General Counsel for Printpack Inc., Mr. McCalley handled general corporate and commercial work, employment law issues, overseas investments and acquisitions (China, Poland, the UK, Mexico, India), intellectual property matters, and compliance.

Prior to joining Printpack, Inc., Mr. McCalley worked for 16 years in increasingly responsible roles in the legal function of The Coca-Cola Company and Coca-Cola Enterprises, 12 of those based in Northern Europe and the UK. He was Division Counsel for Coca-Cola in the Nordic Region and then in Germany and was European General Counsel for CCE’s manufacturing operations. He returned to the States as Deputy General Counsel to CCE, managing employment law issues for CCE’s 60,000 employees while also serving as General Counsel to the Coke Bottling System’s North American buying consortium.

Before joining The Coca-Cola Company, Mr. McCalley worked as a Foreign Service Officer in the U.S. State Department with postings to Belfast, London, Bonn, and Washington.

In addition to law practice, Mr. McCalley teaches an anti-discrimination course at Duke Law School and taught Commercial German at Kennesaw State University (Spring Semester 2020).

Mr. McCalley is an avid traveler and a keen student of military history. He is fluent in German and has some capability in Norwegian and Dutch.
