In respectful memory of Anne Ware Lewis who passed away from cancer Sunday, April 14, 2019. Below is Anne's professional bio but as longtime colleague Frank Strickland said, "What isn’t mentioned in Anne’s bio and accolades is how thoughtful and kind she was to everyone she met... I’ve never met anyone who didn’t like Anne." Anne will be missed by all who knew her.

Anne Lewis is a partner in Taylor English’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department. Her practice involves election-related litigation, including redistricting, Voting Rights Act cases, election contests, and candidate qualifying challenges. Ms. Lewis has served as special counsel on redistricting matters for the Georgia General Assembly and other entities for three decades. The Georgia Attorney General appointed her as Special Attorney General on voting rights cases and litigation related to the defense of Georgia's photo ID law. Her practice also includes representing counties and municipalities in various types of litigation. Ms. Lewis represents candidates and elected officials before the Georgia Government Transparency & Campaign Finance Commission and the State Election Board and serves as counsel to public utilities before the Georgia Public Service Commission.

Since 2009, Ms. Lewis has been elected General Counsel of the Georgia Republican Party. She is also a member of the Executive Committee and State Committee of Georgia Republican Party and a member of the Executive Committee of the DeKalb County Republican Party. She previously served for seven years as Assistant General Counsel of the Georgia Republican Party.

In 2011, Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp named Ms. Lewis to the Elections Advisory Council, which reviewed Georgia's election laws and made recommendations for changes in the Georgia election process, some of which were adopted by the General Assembly in later sessions.
