Steve Greenberg is a leading creditors’ rights and business bankruptcy lawyer whose practice is anchored by his deep and broad experience in commercial litigation. By deploying both his litigation and his advisory skills, Mr. Greenberg achieves creative and cost-effective legal solutions for clients, helping them to address a wide range of commercial law issues.
Mr. Greenberg, a partner with Taylor English, is the chair of the firm’s Bankruptcy Practice Group, and a member of the firm’s Creditors’ Rights and Bankruptcy and Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice Groups. Mr. Greenberg brings to these practice groups substantial experience in the areas of creditors’ rights and business bankruptcy law for creditors, committees, trustees and debtors, focusing on litigation in the bankruptcy and other federal courts, and in the state courts, as well as transactional and restructuring advisory work. Mr. Greenberg’s practice also encompasses commercial, real estate, construction, and general business litigation, zoning, condemnation, and land use law, and general business representation.
Mr. Greenberg’s clients have included banks and other financial institutions; insurance companies; pension funds; real estate investment trusts; commercial real estate developers, investors, owners, managers and brokers; commercial and residential construction companies and builders; architects and engineers; accountants; health care corporations; physician practices; manufacturing companies; technology firms; wireless telecommunications carriers and tower companies; as well as a variety of other businesses and individuals.
Before joining Taylor English in 2011, Mr. Greenberg was a partner with Holt Ney Zatcoff & Wasserman, a respected business law firm in Atlanta, where he practiced law for nearly 25 years. From 1978 through 1986, Mr. Greenberg practiced law in Virginia and in Washington, D.C., with Murphy, McGettigan & West, a boutique litigation law firm in Old Town, Alexandria; with Williams & Jensen, a Washington legislative law firm; and with Virginia Citizens for Better Reclamation, a non-profit organization in Southwest Virginia dedicated to improving strip-mining practices in the Appalachian region of Virginia.
