Don Andersen is an experienced aviation, product liability and intellectual property attorney and a member of the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department. Mr. Andersen is certified by the Florida Bar in the field of aviation law.

Mr. Andersen has been lead counsel on intellectual property, aviation, product liability, insurance and professional liability matters in state and federal courts in Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Alabama, Mississippi, Texas, and California. Mr. Andersen also was Associate General Counsel for Piper Aircraft Corporation from 1989 to 1991, where he supervised nationwide defense of Piper PA-28 and PA-32 aircraft and actively participated as trial counsel in cases throughout the United States. Mr. Andersen also has been active in aircraft title and finance litigation, including recent cases in Florida, Georgia, and Kentucky.

Mr. Andersen is a licensed and active commercial, instrument and multi-engine rated pilot. He is also past president and one of the founding members of the Aero Club of Metropolitan Atlanta and is active as an Angel Flight of Georgia pilot. He is Chairperson of the DRI Aviation Product Liability Specialized Litigation Group.

Mr. Andersen is a member of the Patent Bar and is licensed to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and has been lead counsel in numerous patent, trademark and trade secret cases. He is a past chairman of the Patent, Trademark and Copyright Section of the Georgia Bar.

Mr. Andersen stays active in professional, community and religious organizations. He is a volunteer for DeKalb Habitat for Humanity and is a volunteer for the Metropolitan Atlanta Recovery Residences, a drug and alcohol addiction recovery program for men.

Mr. Andersen also attended the U.S. Naval Academy, class of 1972, and served in the U.S. Navy from 1968-1974, as a member of the U.S. Naval Security Group.
