Clinton J. King counsels clients in identifying, developing, and protecting their intellectual property portfolio. At Taylor English, Mr. King’s practice encompasses patent, trademark, and copyright prosecution, trade secret protection, and litigation. He prepares and prosecutes patent applications for electrical, mechanical, financial and medical transactions, and computer-related technologies.
Prior to joining Taylor English, Mr. King served as a Patent Agent and Summer Associate for Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP in Atlanta, Georgia. He also worked for the United States Patent and Trademark Office on an externship, during which he learned about the patent examination procedure. Prior to entering the legal profession, Mr. King’s experience includes several years of engineering and sales account management coupled with an intense 15-month training program in the General Electric Company’s Technical Sales Leadership Program, and completion of Six Sigma Green Belt certification. During this time he worked for and with several Fortune 100 companies in the healthcare equipment, device, imaging, and manufacturing industries.
Mr. King enjoys traveling, softball, tennis, and trail running (ToughMudder competitor). However, his greatest passion is coaching his three children in life and in any sport they want to be involved with.

Provided counsel to client Seagate Technology LLC on IP matters and provided patent prosecution services. Seagate, headquartered in Ireland and one of only a few major manufacturers of hard disc drives and other complex storage products, has an excellent reputation for intellectual property management. We have provided counsel to this client on IP matters and provided patent prosecution services.
Prepared a utility patent application and two design patent applications for a new consumer product. The product was developed by a local Atlanta resident who developed the product as a side business with the help of local business partners.
Drafted and prosecuted multiple patent applications for new technologies in the packaging industry and industrial valve industry.
Provided counsel to client Mueller Water Products, Inc. on all patent and trade secret matters. These matters range from prosecuting and maintaining the client’s patent portfolio, to counseling the client on protecting its trade secrets.
