
John L. North

John North is a partner in the firm’s Intellectual Property (IP) Practice Group. Mr. North focuses his practice on complex litigation matters, specializing in intellectual property litigation, including patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret, and unfair competition issues. He also provides a depth of knowledge in patent licensing, patent portfolio strategy, pre-litigation counseling, and inter partes review.
Mr. North has served as lead counsel in over 100 intellectual property cases and has litigated in all major IP courts across the United States. His work spans complex matters for clients worldwide, including those in Australia, Taiwan, Israel, and throughout Western Europe.
He is well-versed in a broad range of technologies relevant to his clients, including artificial intelligence, smartphone security, email security, computer software and hardware, telecommunications, chemicals, minerals, textiles, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, healthcare information systems, and various consumer and construction products.
His clients range from billion-dollar corporations to organizations with modest revenues. Mr. North has significant experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants, working with solo inventors as well as some of the world’s largest companies in communications, computing, media, and pharmaceuticals. He is well known for his client service focus in his representations.
