International Federation of IP Counsel’s Open Forum
On October 11, 2019, Micheline Kelly Johnson will participate as a panelist at the International Federation of IP Counsel’s (FICPI’s) Open Forum in Vienna, Austria. The panel will address “Recognizing Potential Conflicts in IP Law.” Ms. Johnson will discuss the recent U.S. case of Altova GMBH which raises issues about the duty of care of IP practitioners with respect to conflicts between clients in the same field. The panel will focus on the practitioners’ duty to predict potential conflicts and related considerations when accepting clients.
