"Litigation: 5 Strategies and Tactics to Manage Risk and Reduce Exposure," InsideCounsel
On January 23, 2014, InsideCounsel published Amy Burton Loggins and Jay Patton’s article, “Litigation: 5 Strategies and Tactics to Manage Risk and Reduce Exposure.” The article covers five proactive measures in-house counsel should consider to manage the litigation process before litigation ensues. These proactive measures include data mapping and early assessment programs, implementing a records retention and management program, as well as litigation hold process, and understanding the protected attorney-client privilege. Because in-house counsel are appointed to act as the trusted legal advisor for and to their company, they should be properly equipped for a dispute. Enacting these proactive measures will ensure their internal clients that the company is ready to stand fast, manage the risks and reduce exposure.
