Taylor English Elects Alison Ballard and Stephanie Ford Capezzuto as Partners

ATLANTA, April 26, 2018 – Taylor English Duma LLP is pleased to announce the election of two new partners: Alison Ballard and Stephanie Ford Capezzuto.

Ballard is a member of Taylor English’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution and Employment and Labor Relations practice groups. Ballard represents corporations, executives and individuals across a diverse range of industries in all types of commercial disputes and litigation, including contractual disputes and business tort claims such as fraud, negligence, breach of fiduciary duties, and professional liability.  Ballard also represents clients in employment-related disputes, including in the resolution of trade secrets claims and the enforcement of restrictive covenants.  She defends clients against employment-related tort and contract claims in federal and state courts, as well as in administrative actions before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Ballard is particularly experienced in coordinating collection of electronically stored information and managing large-scale electronic discovery.

Ballard is Past President of the Executive Committee of Georgia Appleseed's Young Professionals Council and previously served on Georgia Appleseed's board of directors. She co-founded the Student Tribunal Project, which trains attorneys to pro bono represent foster children in school disciplinary hearings. Ballard previously co-chaired the Labor & Employment Section of the State Bar of Georgia, Young Lawyers Division.  Ms. Ballard has been recognized as a rising star in litigation and employment law by Georgia Super Lawyers for the past five years.

She earned both her undergraduate business degree and her law degree from the University of Georgia.

Capezzuto is a member of the firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution and Restaurant, Food and Beverage practice groups. She has extensive experience litigating personal injury claims, including premises liability, automobile liability and pharmacy misfill claims, as well as insurance coverage, breach of contract, false imprisonment, false arrest and malicious prosecution claims. Capezzuto counsels national retail stores, restaurants and hotels in alcohol licensing matters. She has defended child care centers and individuals in actions instituted by the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning, including licensure matters and actions involving the termination of subsidies, such as the Child and Adult Food Care Program (CACFP) and the Childcare and Parent Services (CAPS) program.

Capezzuto is on the steering committee for ServiceJuris, an annual service project in the legal community, and has served as a volunteer for the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Program.

She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama and her law degree from the University of Mississippi.
