Taylor English Boosts Corporate Team with Allan Tanenbaum
Taylor English Duma LLP is pleased to announce that Allan Tanenbaum has joined the firm’s Corporate practice as Of Counsel. Mr. Tanenbaum has served as the general counsel of AFC Enterprises, Inc., the franchisor of Popeyes Chicken, Church’s Chicken, Seattle’s Best Coffee and Cinnabon, and most recently, served as co-founder, managing partner and general counsel of Equicorp Partners, an Atlanta-based private equity and advisory firm specializing in the quick-service and fast-casual food industry. In addition, he has more than 30 years of experience in private practice.
"Allan’s multidimensional experience serving as in-house counsel, outside counsel and in corporate leadership provides him with a unique perspective on the complex business matters facing our clients daily," said Marc Taylor. Mr. Tanenbaum has a broad range of experience representing public and private companies in financing, mergers and acquisitions, compliance and corporate governance matters. He has managed public offerings of debt and equity securities, institutional private placements of high-yield securities and venture capital financings, as well as transactions between public companies, private companies and bank and private financings.

Outside of his practice, Mr. Tanenbaum serves on the board of directors for a number of non-profit, as well as private and public corporations, including DSW, Inc. (NYSE:DSW), where he also chairs the company’s corporate governance committee. Throughout his 43-year legal career, Mr. Tanenbaum has provided extensive service to the Atlanta Bar, the State Bar of Georgia and the American Bar Association (ABA) where he represented the Atlanta Bar and the State Bar in the ABA House of Delegates for more than 30 years. Over the years he has held numerous leadership positions with the ABA and continues to serve as chair of several ABA committees.
Mr. Tanenbaum is a founding member and secretary of The Hank Aaron Chasing the Dream Foundation and he is a national board member of the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF). He is a national board member of the LPGA Foundation and is also director emeritus of The Children’s Museum of Atlanta. Mr. Tanenbaum received his undergraduate degree from the Wharton School of Finance & Commerce at the University of Pennsylvania, and his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law.
