Shawntel Hebert Selected to Executive Committee of the Gate City Bar Association

Taylor English Duma is pleased to announce that Shawntel R. Hebert has been selected to the 2014 Executive Committee of the Gate City Bar Association. She will serve a one-year term where she will participate in making policy decisions that affect the association’s more than 300 members, and will assist the president on special projects. Hebert was sworn in on Jan. 21 at the association’s 2014 Installation of the Executive Committee, Judicial and Paralegal Sections ceremony.

The Gate City Bar was established in 1948 and is the oldest African American Bar Association in Georgia. The association was organized by ten African American lawyers to provide educational, social and community involvement of a professional association for African American lawyers. At Taylor English, Hebert is a member of the firm’s Employment, Labor & Immigration practice where she litigates in defense of companies against claims relating to race, sex, age, national origin, religious and disability discrimination, as well as harassment, retaliation and wrongful discharge. In addition, she provides day-to-day counseling services to clients on general employment-related matters, including risk management and preventative practices.
