Taylor English's Shawntel Hebert Selected for the Outstanding Atlanta Class of 2016
Taylor English is pleased to announce that its partner Shawntel R. Hebert was selected for the Outstanding Atlanta Class of 2016. Ms. Hebert is one of 10 honorees recognized by Outstanding Atlanta for her service, leadership and community involvement as a young professional in Atlanta. The induction ceremony will be held on Friday, January 27, 2017.
Active in the community, Ms. Hebert dedicates her time to bar association events and fundraisers benefitting legal, educational and medical endeavors. She serves as an active member of the Gate City Bar Association where she has chaired its annual Summer Associate Program for three consecutive years and previously served as the organization’s Hall of Fame Gala Chair. She is also a member of The Emory Young Alumni Steering Committee and the National Employment Law Council.
At Taylor English, Ms. Hebert counsels human resource and in-house counsel professionals on day-to-day employment matters. She routinely litigates in defense of companies against claims relating to race, sex, sexual orientation, age, national origin, religious and disability discrimination as well as harassment, retaliation and wrongful discharge. In addition, she provides pre-emptive training to management and non-management employees by reviewing employee handbooks to ensure compliance with ever-changing local, state and federal laws.
Ms. Hebert earned her bachelor’s degree from Howard University and her law degree from Emory University School of Law.
