"Workplace Bullying," Atlanta Business Chronicle

January 31, 2014

On January 31, 2014, the Atlanta Business Chronicle called upon Randy C. Gepp for advice on curbing bullying and harassment in the workplace for their article, “Workplace Bullying.” Mr. Gepp says that bullying is really hard to define for some employers. While there are statutes that protect unlawful treatment based on race, age or sex, having a boss who might be overly demanding or who talks down to you, is not illegal. Another roadblock to legal action is that Georgia does not have a statute that prohibits bullying. Most likely, an employee who feels he or she has been bullied usually files under an intentional infliction of emotional distress meaning that workplace bullying is a tough legal issue to win.
