Wine and Liquor Auction Hosted by Georgia Department of Revenue

Wednesday, May 1, 2019 | 9:00 AM | Georgia Department of Revenue (1800 Century Blvd, NE, Atlanta, GA 30345)

April 30, 2019

The Georgia Restaurant Association announced that the Georgia Department of Revenue will be holding an auction Wednesday, May 1, 2019, at Century Center to sell a large quantity of distilled spirits and wine that their agents have seized over a period of time (beer doesn’t get sold at auction).

You might also be asking – what causes your alcohol to be seized? There are a host of ways, but for restaurant professionals, the quickest way to an alcohol confiscation is to get caught purchasing alcohol for your business from someone other than a licensed distributor – so, no going by Sam’s or the local Kroger to pick up a few bottles of something to get you by until your next delivery.

For the auction, registration and viewing of the lots will begin at 9:00 a.m. and the auction will start at 10:00 a.m. In order to participate in the auction, your business must be currently licensed by your local government and the state for the package or consumption sales of distilled spirits and wine. It may be good to bring a copy of both your local and state license with you to be safe.

For questions, including questions about the inventory being auctioned, contact DOR representative, Melanie Harris at 404.417.6096.
