Friday Humor (of Sorts)

Posted In Humor

The story of this lawsuit has been making the rounds on the Internet.  An appellate court affirmed the dismissal of a suit that adult children filed against their mother, alleging emotional distress for such insensitive actions as sending birthday cards with no gift, making her daughter pay for her prom dress, and failing to send her son care packages at college.   The attorney for the children was their father, who had custody of the two children after he divorced their mother.

Of course, the court was right to dismiss the suit, and of course the attorney-father who brought it deserves a lot of ridicule.  It is obvious, though, that there is a lot of pain underlying the case.  As often happens, by the time matters get this bad, a lawsuit is the least of anyone's worries.
