Historic Colorado Theater Uses Crowdfunding for Renovations

As reported in the VC Post, the Jones Theater in Westcliffe, Colorado is using donations-based crowdfunding to finance part of the cost of needed renovations.  The sponsors are looking to raise $80,000.

The effort is a great example of how crowdfunding can play a role in real estate transactions on a micro-level.  Projects that impact a local community are best-situated for this kind of crowdfunding because the local community contains the persons with the greatest level of interest in the project.
