Scott Duma primarily focuses his practice upon the areas of corporate law and finance, business transactions, and intellectual property. Mr. Duma represents businesses, both domestically and abroad, at all stages of development and in a variety of industries, including technology and ecommerce, healthcare, manufacturing, retailing, entertainment and multi-media, sports and banking and finance. His experience includes all manner of subject matter essential to the successful operation of a business, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate formation and governance, operational contracting (both commercial and government), information security and regulatory compliance, and intellectual property protection and licensing. His prior experience includes not only practicing law but also handling administrative, human resource, accounting and finance, and strategic development functions as a corporate executive in the private sector.
Prior to founding Taylor English, Mr. Duma practiced law at Powell Goldstein, LLP in its corporate department and has previously served in-house as General Counsel for Thoughtmill Corporation and XcelleNet, Inc and as corporate and intellectual property counsel for Premiere Global Services, Inc., Per-Se Technologies, Inc. and Attachmate Corporation (formerly Digital Communications Associates, Inc.). Mr. Duma has also served as a Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of Georgia, representing the Georgia Department of Community Health in a multi-million dollar dispute involving an outsourced vendor and the development, implementation and servicing of a technology solution for the State’s Medicaid System and employee benefits programs.
