Perry McGuire is a member of the firm’s Business Transactions, Corporate & Taxation group. He also practices in the firm’s Hospitality & Franchise group. Prior to joining Taylor English, Mr. McGuire was a corporate attorney for Chick-fil-A, Inc. in Atlanta. He is a former state Senator and was the 2006 Republican nominee for Attorney General of Georgia.
While Mr. McGuire’s practice focuses on franchise and corporate law, his in-house experience has given him a broad base of experience on which to draw to assist clients in many areas of their business. Mr. McGuire has successfully counseled both franchisors and franchisees at every level of the business cycle. He has assisted both franchisors and franchisees get started in their business and believes that any successful franchise is set up on a win-win model for success of both franchisors and franchisees.
Mr. McGuire’s experience as a long-term in-house practitioner gave him the opportunity to touch every area of a business. He has negotiated very complex business contracts, as well as handled very sensitive employment issues. In addition, his governmental experience helps clients cut through the red tape of governmental bureaucracy. He has also handled a variety of commercial litigation matters for clients.
Mr. McGuire and his wife, Lauren, have four children and are active in their church, First Baptist Church of Douglasville, where they teach adult Sunday School. Mr. McGuire was also appointed by Governor Perdue to State Board of Juvenile Justice.
