The Lending, Workout & Foreclosure practice group at Taylor English represents national, regional, local and community banks and lending institutions in all manner of actions related to troubled loans. Our team brings legal and business experience gained from years working on workout and restructuring transactions at top national firms and as in-house counsels at some of the country’s largest corporations.
The Resort, Hotel & Hospitality Group of Taylor English is nationally known for its representation of clients involved in the resort, hotel, restaurant, regulated real estate, travel and hospitality industry. Mark I. Sanders is a member of the Corporate & Business; Resort, Hotel & Hospitality; and Real Estate, Lending & Finance groups in the Atlanta office of Taylor English. His primary focus is on business law.  Mr. Sanders has an extensive background in the areas of real estate and finance, such as securitization and warehousing of vacation ownership receivables, accounts receivable sale and hypothecation/loan transactions, real estate and related asset secured loans and other complex credit facility transactions.  In addition, Mr. Sanders concentrates in hospitality law, including the representation of restaurateurs and related alcohol beverage and other licensing, as well as representation of resort and land developers, to include developers of fractional real estate.  His practice also encompasses general corporate and commercial law, inclusive of business entity formation, contracts, stock/asset sales and purchases, secured transactions, trade practice law, marketing law and litigation counseling related to these practice areas.  He has had experience in a variety of business and finance transactions for both private and public companies, as well as in civil litigation matters including commercial, employment and trade practice disputes.

Mr. Sanders is a member of the State Bar of Georgia (Member, Real Property and Business Law Sections), District of Columbia Bar, New York State Bar Association and American Bar Association (Member, Business Law Section).  He is admitted to practice in all Georgia State and Superior Courts, the Georgia Court of Appeals, the Georgia Supreme Court, the United States District Courts for the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia (Federal Court), the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals (Federal Court) and the United States Supreme Court.  He is also an accredited member of the Academy of Hospitality Industry Attorneys, a member of the American Resort Development Association and a sustaining member of the National Association of Alcoholic Beverage Licensing Attorneys.

Prior to joining Taylor English, Mr. Sanders was a shareholder in a mid-sized Atlanta based law firm where he practiced for the better part of 17 years and was the co-chair of the firm’s Real Estate & Finance group.  He has received Martindale-Hubbell’s highest attorney rating of AV® Preeminent™ (5.0 out 5).

Mr. Sanders earned his B.A. in History from the University of Michigan in 1991 and his J.D. cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law in 1994, where he was a member of The University of Miami Law Review.
